A sculptural representation of a graph, showing the
declining Maternal Mortality Rate over the past 100 years,
due to such innovations as anaesthetics, blood transfusion,
anti-sepsis and the Abortion Bill introduced in 1967. The
plaster of Paris pregnant torsos each represented 200
deaths, and in 1880, the MMR was 200 in 10,000 births. The
various dips and troughs in the graph reflect the
introduction of these preventative measures. It was openend
